"We loved the location and felt at home instantly. It was pretty cold outside so the heated kitchen/living room floors and the fireplace made it very cozy. The furniture and the beds were very comfortable and the added touches were all a nice treat - well stocked kitchen, candles, good coffee, bath salts, fuzzy throw blankets, etc. We wanted to explore the area in the snow so the sauna, fire pit and soaking tub really made the home perfect for a winter escape. I didn't want to leave and cant wait to go back."

"We had a great time at McAllister! We were only here for two nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is really pretty, and has a lot of things to do even if you stay in. We enjoyed playing mini golf and board games. The kitchen was fully functional, which we ended up using a bit to prepare hot chocolate and breakfast. Back of the house opens to a beautiful park, and there are a lot of hikes and lakeshore points short drive away. Jessie was also very helpful with everything, she replied quickly whenever we needed help with something, she also graciously gave us recommendations on things to do around the area. We also loved the complimentary wine!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. It was just as advertised with unique features like a children's nook, record player, sauna, fireplace and a mini-golf green. We were there during the shoulder season between skiing and summer when less tourists come, and less businesses were open but it didn't matter since the house was it's own attraction and there was still plenty to do in nature around you. The house is just a few steps from the golf course and, with the cold, no one was golfing it kind of felt like a giant backyard. The cold gave us a chance to enjoy the sauna, which was easy to operate and very comfortable for 4 adults or 2 adults and 5 kids. Close to many waterfalls, rock hunting spots, an Oberg mountain hiking loop that is doable for most abilities, and quite scenic. This place has it all!"

"We had a wonderful stay! The house was fantastic- warm, modern, clean, very livable with several different fun spaces to spread out! The kids loved the putting green, fire pit, and the little TV nook on the third floor! We enjoyed several wonderful home cooked meals using the fantastic kitchen and grill! The sauna was a wonderful way to top off the day! We enjoyed the local area from the alpine slides and winery to the local rivers and hiking. Our hosts were also very responsive and a big help when needed! Thanks for a great stay!"

"Our stay at The McAllister was amazing! Beautiful home with all the amenities we needed. The only concern I had that could’ve been better was I wished the master bathroom was cleaner. When we checked in, I noticed a lot of hair still left on the bathroom floor. It was no big deal. I cleaned it but it made me questioned how the property is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each guest visits. This was the only negative experience I had at the property. But overall, it was a beautiful home and we enjoyed our stay."

"I’m someone who places a high value on the quality of accommodations during family trips, and if you're looking for the perfect Airbnb to enjoy the fall foliage, this is your best choice. The place is peaceful, spotless, and well-equipped—with a BBQ grill, sauna, and our family’s favorite: the outdoor fire pit. Most importantly, the host is incredibly kind and responsible, which means a lot to us. If we ever return to Lutsen, this will definitely be our first choice again. 100% recommended!"

"⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ The McAllister was home to us for a fun-filled birthday weekend. The home's large windows and stunning interior is captivating the moment you step in. We enjoyed spending time in the sauna, more times that we can count! The bonfire had plenty of firewood that Jessie was generous enough to provide, and you get a great viewing spot for star gazing. Don't skip out on using the telescope! There were extra cozy blankets and plenty of pillows for cozying up around the living areas for movies and playing video games that we brought up. The den was sweet for getting cozy and reading. The kitchen is well stocked with serving bowls and plates, but if you plan on cooking at the McAllister, consider bringing seasonings from home or visiting the nearby markets for the little things. Jessie is a fantastic host and was so kind and easy to communicate with. She is thoughtful, wishing us a great stay and was great with checking in before and after our stay. I can easily recommend booking!"

"We have stayed at many north shore vacation rentals and have never been so close to so many activities! We walked to the winery and bike path. Only a 1 mile drive to Lutsen Mountain with an amazing gondola ride, alpine slide, and several food options. We also found the Grandview Beach 5 minutes away and had it to ourselves two days in a row! This is a kid friendly haven with the putt putt hole, “secret loft” and beautiful outdoor space. So many card and board games to keep them busy. Adults will enjoy the pristine amenities, furnishings and comfortable beds. They’ve thought of everything. It’s truly the perfect place and we hope to visit again. Highlight: utilize their recommended in- house chef and take a night off from cooking."
